kara killing that woman-trafficking nonce with no hesitance instead of pulling the usual “if i kill the villain, i’m no better than them” or “i’ll let u go, but i will kill u next time” trope was the most satisfying ending ever
Remember when Musk challenged the World Food Program to explain how he could solve world hunger with just $6 billion, they did, and he just completely ignored them?
They scraped the internet for every last bit of data, stole information from books, articles, art etc. all created by HUMANS, and now want to sell it back to you at a premium because you all have convinced yourselves this is the future and it’s inevitable lmao
"We must, then, avoid the 'Babel syndrome,' namely the idolatry of profit that sacrifices the weak, a uniformity that neutralizes differences, and the pretense that a single language — even a digital one — can translate everything, including the mystery of the person, into data and performance."
worst part of the literacy crisis is that you can’t use hyperbole or be dramatic anymore without some dumb fucking idiot thinking that you sincerely believe whatever exaggeration you said
Some of the reactions to this are odd to me. I know it’s an unpopular opinion on here but this is a very young person just starting out and entering the world where there’s no hope of stability or even a half decent standard of living and all the pathways to that have been foreclosed due to an undemocratic government that has eroded everyone’s quality of life consistently for 50+ years, while wreaking havoc globally. This undemocratic government is starting wars nobody wants and making her life even harder all for the sake of drenching the world in blood so a few people at the top can profit.
The way to help people like her understand why things are the way they are isn’t to blame her for the actions of a government over which she has no control, it’s to empathize and then show her that she needs to organize against it to change things. When I was her age I was so poor and immiserated and always on the brink of homelessness that I had no time to even think about politics, I was just trying to survive. Poverty is hell and made me contemplate suicide many times. I wish people realized that young people like this are ripe for radicalization because they feel the effects of a government that does not care about them, but you can’t intervene by laughing at their struggles, which are real even if they are nothing compared to the struggles of those whom this satanic government is bombing. It’s all connected and making those connections is how you bring people in to eventually change things.
I think it’s very understandable for someone who has been the victim of our imperialism to not make distinctions but for us here we should realize that the people who “deserve it” are the ones who are totally unaffected by what this country does. The rest of us pay while those destroying the world profit.
I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran.
This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war.
Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons.
I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late.
Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.
