Meet Theo, a devoted member of the #MetallicaFamily from Ottawa, Canada.

In February, Theo received devastating news: doctors diagnosed him with Leukemia. His first question? “Can we still see Metallica?”

In the 65 days between his diagnosis and our stop in Toronto, the determined young man made it clear that nothing would stand in his way, not even cancer. Despite setbacks, Theo was discharged from the hospital 72 hours before showtime, paving the way for an unforgettable night with his dad, Chris.

"Sitting in our seats at the Rogers Centre on that long-awaited night felt like a triumph. Cancer had taken so much from Theo. But it did not take this. We didn’t let it. The lights dimmed, and the music we both love began pulsating through our bodies. Theo, still a bit wobbly, smiled in a way I hadn’t seen in months.”

Today, Theo continues his fight, with nearly two years of chemotherapy remaining. But with a positive prognosis from his doctors, he will recover. And with the entire Metallica Family on his side, we know there will be plenty more concerts in his future.

Chris, thank you for sharing your son’s story with us. And Theo, you’re our new hero. Keep fighting! 🤘🖤
