@LusciniaStelle @Kougaon_ I agree whole heartedly, I just think it’s unrealistic to believe someone won’t look up FFXIV on YouTube and see the bad discourse. Not to mention it’s a social game, and when I meet people they usually have rose tinted love for the game I’m in, and not the one they’re in.

@Kougaon_ Narrative is a very powerful thing and you don’t want people who are looking into the game to be swamped by “The 3 Year decline of FFXIV” manifestos. It’s a bad first impression. But yes, I will continue my march Heavensward 🫡

@sevenblades As someone new to FFXIV and traditional MMOs in general, isn’t that the point? The Expansion pack model feels very different to me than a standard live service style game I’m used to. AFAIK, the game numbers normally dip and peak in accordance

@natus_ffxiv Whenever I stream (Heavensward) I get like 8 MSQ done in 3 hours, then my friend playing an alt alongside me breezes through 25 MSQ in 5 minutes. Long story short, reading, especially when you struggle with French names, takes a longgg time.

@Midnababy I’m like 4 expansions away, but from my perspective, almost everything I hear about it is negative. Which is a bad environment to foster in New Players. No one wants to commit to a 1000 Hour game when all you hear is that it’s in decline.

@Xyless @TheHellsage @envinyon I’m sure there’s good content out there, I’m just worried about perception. If a new player just looks up ‘FFXIV’ on YouTube, half the stuff is doomerism which will probably make a new player rethink committing to a 1000+ hr game.
