@GigglingGanon Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. Have some respect for others. It’s common decency.
Dudes just trying to be a dick.
@AMAZlNGNATURE She didn’t destroy anything. She didn’t cause unrest. She didn’t hinder people’s lives. And she was still able to accomplish more than most “activist” today.
@the_jefferymead@JaeHasABlackJob Black person saying “we need black doctors” but doesn’t do anything to become a doctor…waiting on someone else to solve their issue.
I don’t care what you look like. Just as long as you can do the job right.
@zaklito@Gaijin_Markus@sunQ_osrs@TheJoeySwoll That is exactly what happened to others that were sold from Europe. No job/homeless/orphan/jailed? Sold and sent across and forced to work. Many never lived past 2yrs. Their descendants moved on and continued life. Trying to continue to make better than the generation before.
@zaklito@Gaijin_Markus@sunQ_osrs@TheJoeySwoll The man who wrote about neo-slavery? Inmates bonds paid by people to sign them into a contract to work off the debt.
That’s exactly what indentured servitude is. If you’re not wanting to count that as the same when it comes to Irish then you can’t count it the same with this.
@zaklito@Gaijin_Markus@sunQ_osrs@TheJoeySwoll It’s the same thing with different wording. Many didn’t live past 2yrs. And the ones sent over were sold into it. Orphans pulled from the streets. Kidnapped but swept under the rug. Etc.
If you’re going to look at some of the history then look at the whole history.
@aWill1875@Poeslawisalive@TheJoeySwoll Depends on location. In the u.s. only 20 died from the witch trials. 14 women 6 men (5 more in prison waiting trial). Main method of trial was drowning. Usually when they tried pulling the person out of the water after they sank.
Europe however did. But that wasn’t just witches.
@Mr_BerIin@IDGAPHActual@TheJoeySwoll Finally. A statement I could not agree more with.
Never forget the past. But also never live in the past. learn from it to move forward.
@zaklito@Gaijin_Markus@sunQ_osrs@TheJoeySwoll You should read White Cargo: The Forgotten History of Britain's White Slaves in America. Black people weren’t the only slaves. And natives weren’t treated far worse.
