With all this said regarding violence and loss, we all must remember to be grateful every day in spite of the tragedies we experience. As Thanksgiving approaches, it's a great time to begin to reflect and appreciate the beauty we see in our crazy and different lives. #fresheyes

Just a follow up reminder to keep checking in on, supporting, and loving our Jewish neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. The feeling of grief/loss doesn't subside in a week. It's often after time passes and the attention settles down that people need love most. #fresheyes

More on protesting, you can spark such change in very simple ways you may not even realize matter. Whether it's talking to those close to you, tweeting, not engaging in certain behaviors or trends...it all counts. Don't underestimate the power of your actions. #fresheyes #soc119

Food for thought: The United States has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world. However, we have seen reductions in crime in certain areas as well. Where do you stand? Do you think more arrests stop crime? No? Worth your time, this is a big deal! #fresheyes

Did you know that racism can seriously affect mental health even as a child? It has been shown that preschoolers can separate themselves based off race and a 10 year old can depict discrimination. Be kind to others, you are impacting the clean slates of the future! #fresheyes

Remember to be careful when throwing the word "ghetto" around in a negative light. For many people a "ghetto" is/was their actual home. Often these places you have in mind are incredibly hard to live in (first of all), and even harder to leave successfully. #fresheyes #soc119

Reminder that there's a really cool difference between race and ethnicity. Yes, many people of the same race share similarities. But don't forget, people can look alike and come from completely different backgrounds. Pretty cool our uniqueness doesn't stop at race! #fresheyes

I like this photo because from my understanding it shows all types of people having the equal opportunity to go to college. This as it should be, takes place today with help of affirmative action. I think AA is slightly unfair at this point in time. Where do you stand? #fresheyes

Was reminded in class last week of something important- to not point fingers. When it comes to the vastly different yet similar sexual assault cases of these universities, it's all bad. In general, lets not make others feel lesser for their mistakes. Be kind. #fresheyes #soc119
