Is it me, or is it hot?!
Contrary to looks, I’m actually finishing my working week pretty content! (But goodness, my consulting room is warm). Particularly loving immersing myself in my client work at the moment, and connecting with all the reasons that I first became a (CONT)
Harm in therapy training in the U.K. - both within systems, as well as in gaining access to certain systems e.g affordable access to higher level training, is a huge equitable issue. This is why harm in therapy itself, isn’t devoid from the systemic problems our profession faces
Just realised that I’ve been a supervisor for 12 years!
Still love it as much as my therapy work… it’s a blessing to be holding this work (even in an indirect way), in the respectful and nurturing way that the supervision space can thoughtfully provide.

Never play down your intuition in the counselling room.If used sensitively,it can be a great gift to the work. Be unafraid to live in the unknown with your clients,&explore deeply&creatively with all your faculties;forever keeping your awareness&curiosity alive

2/2 I suspect myself of defending against being fully present with the patient's pain. Diagnosis can, like anything else, be used as a defense against anxiety about the unknown.

Once I have a good feel for a person, and the work is going well, I stop thinking diagnostically and simply immerse myself in the unique relationship that unfolds between me and the client. If I find myself preoccupied with issues of diagnosis in an ongoing way,
Grief never leaves. Even for those of us who specialise in this area, there are some things in life that are inescapable. Days get easier, and life can be managed, but you never get over it. And you know what… that’s okay. It shows the power of life and the power of love.
Is it me or does it look like they’re posing as an 18th century Lord and Lady, for a new painting for the drawing room?! Lord Reuben and Lady Lily-Rose of Cl’ham 👑
I always get suspicious when I find them doing things like this… 😂🥰

3/ Ernesto Spinelli is also endorsing this book (causally placed above me, as you can see in photo 2 😏 😮 😅 )!! Throw Gillian Proctor in, and also my lovely #TherapistsConnect colleague @drpeterblundell and we are in relational therapy heaven 🥰 . But it’s still nothing, (CONT)
2/relational therapy via a series of short stories, showing intricately how healing can unfold within the therapy room.
It’s an enjoyable book, which in my opinion every integrative therapist should ready 👍 .
Coming back to therapy heroes… note how (CONT)

1/It’s always a pleasure to be asked by a publisher to write an endorsement for a book, but it’s *particularly* amazing when you’re asked to review one of your therapy heroes! Linda Finlay, as my review says, ventures into the deep, unknown territory of (CONT)

👎 to the ‘trend’ of unpaid work in our profession.
👎 to the under-paying of qualified therapists: in the 3rd sector; in private therapy organisations; for digital platforms; for EAPS.
👎 making a profit of the backs off hard-working therapists through unpaid&underpaid work.
Deliberately staying out of professional stuff recently, but was just wondering whether in this much lauded commission by the PCPB, anything has been mentioned at all about the lack of jobs, problem w/unpaid work… etc? It’s only the biggest issue after-all… #TherapistsConnect
Happy Easter from me and the girl 🐶 . You can’t see it but we’re actually twinning in this photo with our jackets… I mean, her growth may got a bit stunted, but twins in every other way!!
