A Tour de First! 🟡
In 2027 we welcome the world’s most famous cycle races to Grande-Bretagne for a Grand Départ like no other.
Both the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift pelotons begin their journeys on the same foreign land for the first time ever!
This being pre-Beijing British Cycling. The atmosphere was one of cheering on the big stars of cycling and the occasional plucky Brit. Little did we know about the success to come, or that we were in the presence of the greatest Tour de France sprinter of all time.
Was in Trafalgar Square in 2007 for @LeTour team presentation. The mood then was one of relief that we had some British riders to cheer on. I don’t think anyone in the crowd could have predicted that one of them, @MarkCavendish would go on and set the record for stage wins.
@LeftPeggers The important thing now is to follow it up with policy, funding and build on the increased engagement levels. Different areas of the country have different levels of approach to this though.

I’m in! 🙋looking forward to visiting @AngusCouncil for the weekend and exploring some new roads (and hills knowing Neil!) and taking part in one of the best events on the calendar.

Sepp Kuss came directly to Mikel Landa at the finish to apologise for sprinting him on the line. It’s not in the images but he said he was sorry and that it wasn’t his style: “I didn’t want to do it, but I had to take the bonus seconds”.
Landa tells us that it says a lot about him and that he appreciates his words.
Every day it’s a good opportunity to find an inspiration in the values of this sport. Today the best demonstration of respect we found it between those two riders.
