Motorists driving between Aldinga and Sellicks Beach are experiencing safer, smoother journeys thanks to the Main South Road duplication.

All speed limits on this section of Main South Road are now at their permanent level following surface monitoring and testing.

UPDATE: Traeger Rd has re-opened to all traffic following repairs to a burst water main.
A 40kph speed restriction will remain inplace, until asphalt reinstatment is completed within the following days.

The project has converted nearly one kilometre of the former railway corridor into a community area linking to the Outer Harbor Greenway and Port Adelaide.

Originally built in 1902, the Penneshaw Jetty has served generations of Kangaroo Islanders and visitors. The upgraded jetty will continue serving as a treasured community asset while preserving an important part of Penneshaw’s history for years to come.

The Penneshaw Jetty is now complete and ready to welcome locals, visitors and the warmer weather.

The new design importantly has its own entrance separate from the ferry terminal, enabling public access at all times, including when ferries are berthing.

Please follow onsite signage and staff directions. This work will help to extend the lifespan of the historic structure, ensuring it remains safe and accessible for the community.

Semaphore Jetty will be partially closed from Tues, 13 October for maintenance work. This work is expected to take approximately one week. The section of the jetty beyond the beach access stairs will be closed during the work, but the stairs will remain open throughout.
