@AmericanAir — I’m extremely disappointed by how American has handled a significant disruption to my international business-class trip today.
I understand operational and safety issues happen. What matters is how an airline responds when they do.
American’s proposed resolution is to delay my arrival by a full day, downgrade me from business class to economy, and add another connection to the journey.
I’ve already spent considerable time with customer service trying to resolve this directly, without a reasonable solution or meaningful escalation.
For a premium international itinerary, this is not an acceptable recovery.
I’m asking American to connect me with someone who has the authority to make this right. Otherwise, I’ll pursue the matter formally through the appropriate regulatory and legal channels.

Hey @DoorDash — you have a geocoding bug that is literally preventing customers from ordering.
Cal Poly has dozens of buildings that share one address: 1 Grand Ave, San Luis Obispo, CA 93407.
Your app pins that address to one point, then WON’T let us move the delivery pin far enough to reach our actual building — even though the building is correctly mapped by Google (Building 84).
Support keeps telling me to wait or try another phone.
This isn’t a support issue. It’s a product bug.
And it presumably affects universities, hospitals, corporate campuses, resorts and any other large property sharing a single street address.
@DoorDash_Help can you get this in front of someone in Product/Engineering?
@brysondech how about a “heritage” series highlighting some of your experiences as you came up the ranks or a course record attempt at the San Luis Obispo Country club? As a huge Bryson fan and a member at the club would be amazing to see you return to the Central Valley for some content.
@bchesky when a host sends a message with a commitment that families commit tens of thousands of dollars based on, and they can simply “unsend” that message — this is a flaw in the trust you hope to achieve as a broker.
To be clear, I can’t imagine you have any notion of this. And like all orgs, they grow beyond the purview of the visionary, but I personally would want to know how awful the experience of one of my would-be travelers was as a signal to what I might need to allocate time to.
@bchesky as a tech professional and software entrepreneur I’m a huge fan of what you have accomplished. I will tell you a recent situation with an awful host, and a total lack of support from your teams, has turned my entire perspective.
broker you imagined. With power comes responsibility. Unfortunately, I do not believe your teams have the training or communication skills require to continue to build trust and momentum toward your extended and holistic vision of experiences.
