@umd_dcc Emily Sann’s capstone “Playing Personalities” was very conceptually interesting and intriguing! As someone who is very interested in psychology and games, I found it so cool how she combined the two in an educational way! #CapstoneFair
To me, success is making a positive difference in the world. It doesn’t matter how I make that difference, whether through science or the arts, as long as the difference is made. It also doesn’t matter how many times I fail, because you really only need to succeed once. #dcc105
"Experience is the greatest teacher” is a well known saying. Experience doesn’t only involve success; on the contrary, experience often revolves around making mistakes. If experience is the greatest teacher, then mistakes and failures are the greatest lesson plan. #dcc105
As an artist, I have learned that art is never going to be perfect, because art is created by natural beings and it is almost impossible for something natural to be or create something perfect. Humans err by nature, but art doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. #dcc105
As the world shifts to being more online, those without access will be left further behind. Are the advancements made by those with access considered progress when not everybody is moving forward? #dcc105
Just because some people know how to drive doesn’t mean that they need to know every little mechanical detail of their car. It’s just necessary to know the basics to work out simple situations, otherwise a lot of people would lose their jobs #dcc105
@Carmen_dcc @eraodcc Yeah, they did the same thing at my school and there was a specific url intro that you could type in to get around the restrictions #dcc105
Removing all of your characteristics and qualities is sometimes bad. We shouldn’t discriminate against that, but we shouldn’t ignore it either - we need an identity. #dcc105
@FreedmanBrent @JaiUpadhyayDCC If a memory/experience is that important to you, you will remember it. The brain will store and remember events you value the most because you recall them the most. It might get distorted a bit, but the raw emotions you felt at the time will never be corrupted #dcc105
@hwaa18dcc As a fellow photographer, I think slightly differently. For meaningful moments, I just want to enjoy them. I only actively photograph when that is my goal: to create art. #dcc105
Are specific designs, like buttons and stuff, confining in their affordances. Like it’s very difficult to replace them because they are so engrained in our lives? Isn’t that a bad thing? #dcc105
@mkacz105 In certain cultures, you are supposed to use your right hand for certain actions and left hand for other actions, you never interchange. These are traditions that are so ancient that they never really went away
