@OCFireAuthority Also, with large bulk tanks struggle to have sufficient mixing within the tank to distribute the inhibitor. You’ll want to recirculate material from the bottom of the tank into itself to ensure adequate mixing.

@OCFireAuthority Add PTZ (Phenothiazine) to the tank. It’s a radical scavenger that will help inhibit the reaction.

@OCFireAuthority Adding PTZ makes the chemical unusable for production but at this point should probably be added anyways. I’m not sure if they have the inhibitor stored or if they lack the addition system on the tank. You’ll probably need to pump drums of PTZ through the top of the tank.

@OCFireAuthority From CBS news I’m seeing this is reported as a methacrylate tank. MMA can autopolymerize and is usually stored with an inhibitor and cooling system. As the MMA reacts with its self it can generate heat which speeds up the reaction rate (leading to runaway).

David Hampton planted douglas fir and larch trees in a forest in Oregon to resemble a face. Every autumn the larch pines turn orange and the smiley face stands out

The face is about 300 feet in diameter. 
rope was used to measure the circle douglas fir was planted for the eyes and mouth and the rest of the face was filled out with larch. both species will eventually be harvested but will smile at least for the next 30-50 years
