For those wondering that’s the first time a red card in the World Cup has been overturned since 1962. It was when Garrincha was sent off in the semis, and a series of bribes got his card overturned

“UC Berkeley calculus classes now have to pause to explain basic properties of addition and multiplication — for example, that (a+b) c = ac + bc. According to California’s Common Core standards, this material is taught in third grade.” (Op-ed, WashPost)
I desperately need people who only watch football every 4 years to stop suggesting rule changes.
Yes, the offsides rule makes sense. No, there should not be unlimited substitutions. Yes, a penalty shootout is the best way to settle a draw.
The world’s biggest sport doesn’t need your alterations.
Moreover I find that adult beginners are really underserved in terms of online hockey instruction.

Hello to everyone within the StarCraft community,
Today, I would like to address the discussion surrounding HomeStory Cup 29 and the patch that will be used for the tournament.
First of all, I want to acknowledge that we appreciate Blizzard's continued support of StarCraft and their willingness to implement fundamental changes in an effort to shake up what has become a very stale meta. While I personally remain unconvinced that an eight-worker start will benefit StarCraft or increase its strategic diversity, I am more than willing and even excited to be proven wrong.
That said, I would like to express my concerns regarding the way this patch was introduced. In my view, it was applied without sufficient testing and communication. If additional data was needed to evaluate such significant changes, and the Public Test Realm did not provide a large enough player base to gather that data, I would have expected a clear statement to that effect. For example, Blizzard could have communicated that the patch was being deployed primarily for data collection purposes, while also making it clear that they would be prepared to revert changes if the desired results were not achieved.
While I would still have concerns about the impact on competitive integrity - and while the timing remains unfortunate - I could at least understand the reasoning behind such a decision. As a result of these concerns, my initial plan was to run HomeStory Cup 29 on the previous patch using a custom mod.
I shared this intention with the participating players. While they understood that our primary goal was to protect the integrity of the tournament and avoid playing on what is, for all practical purposes, an untested patch, they also raised a valid point: a major event like HomeStory Cup presents a valuable opportunity to gather data, encourage discussion among professional players, and give the wider audience a chance to see the changes in action.
I am always grateful for the input of both the community and the professionals within our scene. In this particular case, players such as Lambo and Harstem were among the first to raise these considerations. I strongly believe in working together and finding solutions collectively, so I offered to put the decision to a vote among the players competing in the event.
Following that vote, a majority of players expressed their preference to play on the new patch. Therefore, HomeStory Cup 29 will be played on the latest version of the game, including the eight-worker start and all related changes.
We understand that this patch is controversial and that discussions about its impact will continue. However, we encourage the community to approach these discussions with an open mind: watch the games carefully, reflect on what you see, and listen to the feedback of the professional players throughout the event.
We look forward to an exciting HomeStory Cup 29 and hope you will join us in exploring what these changes may bring to the future of StarCraft.
Thank you for your continued passion and support.

Welcome to Philly, @LabaronPhilon. Real quick, do you ride motorcycles? Do you have a sesame seed allergy? Have you ever played basketball and thought “I’d rather be a professional fisherman?” Let us know thanks!
That’s so sad!
The fact that #Disney is “celebrating” #TheHunchbackOfNotreDame’s 30th anniversary exclusively on #DisneyPlus and not with a theatrical rerelease goes to show what I’ve always said: this movie would never be made today. Same goes to #Fox’s #Anastasia…
In Sweden, nationalization of breweries had been discussed since the 1930s for the purpose of regulating drinking. Until the 1970s, it was repeatedly rejected because purchasing the whole industry would have been prohibitively expensive. It finally did when it nationalized Pripps.
The state wanted greater control over alcohol production and marketing. But once the state owned the dominant brewery, it behaved in many ways like a profit-maximizing firm with powerful access to the state's other regulatory powers. Its why Pripps became more dominant after nationalization. The state was effectively regulating the beer market while simultaneously being the majority owner of the market leader.
From a public-choice perspective, there is an even deeper irony: the state justified ownership as a way to restrain the market, but ownership gave it incentives to extract more revenues. Honestly, this paper in the Scandinavian Economic History Review really shows a point I have been making for years: if states want to regulate certain aspects of behavior (like drinking or drugs), the worst way to do so is via state ownership and control over production, retail and distribution.
