"Advanced Active Record" is available! Lots of bits on scopes, joins, queries, migrations, Arel, code deep dives, association extensions, and much more. Get it at https://t.co/0cyBB05wkr
This is a great book - https://t.co/DK8z3eL15o - the avoid / tweak / refactor decision (part of the "It's got to be twice as good" rule) is a nice breakdown. And it's a fun read, I've gotten a couple of chuckles out of every chapter.
The old "trailing slash" got me again when trying to compile Ruby 3.0.4 - it's "--with-openssl-dir=/usr/local/old_ssl" not "--with-openssl-dir=/usr/local/old_ssl/"
This graphql talk by @nikgraf is super-insightful https://t.co/7hcKvkTEA8; having done a bunch of graphql lately I totally concur with both the problems and the solutions. Really nice to have this before/after example format too.
@veganstraightedge Hi Shane, sorry, just checked it and looks like I don't have a "settings" button, so I guess not. I guess fork it unless you know someone at Groupon who might be an admin.
Well done @VirginiaDMV - I forgot to renew my registration, you texted me 10 days before it expired, the web site let me renew, and the stickers got to my house 2 days before the expiration date even though it was during Christmas. Very nice!
If you have an iphone with verizon as the carrier, and that iphone can send but not receive texts to android devices, try unenrolling the device from the "HD Voice" add-on using the "myverizon" app. Once I did that all that texts came flooding in.
From "Shop Class as Soulcraft": "[a VW] had been the site of focused attention by others, and its present state represented the layers of their varying purposes, gathered together in a material thing." Sounds like a 5 year old Rails app!
