@mike77cos It has a tacho. I’m only a category B licence holder though but I was allowed to drive it having done the extra training course required by the electric van derogation loophole
@t2stu Isn’t it. Not ours sadly, but we get to appreciate our neighbours’ efforts. There’s a reason the picture doesn’t show our ‘rewilding’ approach to gardening…
Absolutely delighted to hear @itvcycling serenade @romainbardet with SL2’s On a Ragga Tip in tonight’s highlights, as happens in our house whenever he appears on screen

@hugo_griffiths I’ve talked to them and it’s a factor, of course, but it’s one of many. As Lawrence says, they are nicer to drive in urban environments, you have more control over fuelling, there is lower local emissions, lower SMR costs, it helps with corporate eco goals…
@hugo_griffiths Sure, if you choose the testing parameters to show as much. Those companies that have done the TCO and usage assessments to go EV-only disagree and their shareholders don’t like money being wasted. As I said, it’s nuanced and can’t be reduced to ‘X is better than Y’
@hugo_griffiths And there are lots of ‘subsidies’ hidden in our tax system. I don’t caveat a review of a pickup because of the CV BIK benefits for example
@hugo_griffiths There’s too much nuance to say you should/shouldn’t in a short statement. For some - those with predictable working days for example, of which there are many - EVs are perfect so no compromise is needed
