I found some negs and a contact sheet of beautiful standing stones pics my late Pa took, which I have never seen before. Guessing it's in Scotland. No identification so hoping someone in cyber space can help me? Is this the Ring of Brodgar?
Terry Cryer and Ottilie Patterson in 1957, the Godmother of British Blues. She was born on this day in Northern Ireland 🍀 on St.Brigid's eve, in 1932 and died 20 June 2011
To kick things off we’ve put together a 20-image curated gallery on our Leodis website showing you some of our grooviest jazz cuts. Check it out – especially Johnny Booker’s monkey! https://t.co/g5r3K2PjvV
Many of those images are of legendary New Briggate jazz club Studio 20, taken by Terry Cryer, the influential Leeds-born photographer. Terry’s brilliant autobiography gives lots more info about the 1950s Leeds jazz scene – you can reserve a copy by asking at your local library!
@PRONI_DFC We are pleased to see Ottilie being celebrated & would love to view your collection of photos and press cuttings.
We wonder if you have found any original vintage prints of Ottilie Patterson taken by Terry Cryer in the 50s in your archive?
@AmbreLynae @BTown_Beats No need to apologise. Both Sister Rosetta and Terry would be so happy to know people still honour their memories 🙏

@BTown_Beats @AmbreLynae We would love to have a scan of this vintage print for our records. Thank you. Here are some more Terry Cryer photos of Sister Rosetta Tharpe from the same night. Back stage with her 3rd husband & manager Russell Morrison. Performing on stage with Ottilie Patterson.
@AmbreLynae @BTown_Beats It is lovely to see that this original print still exists and is cherished. It makes our family happy to know others are also cherishing Sister Rosetta Tharpe's memory as much as we do 🙏💕
@AmbreLynae @BTown_Beats Thank you for sharing this treasured piece of Sister Rosetta Tharpe's story 💗
