@floridanick561 @LeadingReport Florida can seek USDOT approval to switch itself into the Atlantic time zone, then it could opt to stay on Atlantic standard time with no clock change. This would effectively put Florida into permanent eastern dst. They haven’t done this because it is unpopular and unwise.

Your politicians are hiding that from you because it’s bad policy to do it. They want to blame not doing it on the fed.

If FL was serious and committed to having “permanent DST” for itself, it would do what’s in its immediate power. It is not. The vote was performative. A scam.
