Cardinals acquired Romero in 2022 for Edmundo Sosa and that trade is paying off big time. Despite the very disappointing season so far for the Birds, Romero and closer Ryan Helsley have joined to make an elite bullpen duo. Romero has definitely been a welcomed surprise.

“@N_ducote37 & I will be taking a leave of absence from TDA as we complete our internships. We are selecting a new in-term president - @jscud23. I completely believe in his ability to continue generating great sabermetric content for the new fan.”

Despite being in the 10th percentile or below in Velo, Whiff% and K%. A’s RP TJ McFarland ranks in the 90th percentile or higher in xERA, BB%, Barrel%, HardHit%, and GB%.
This is a prime example of sometimes Velo and Strikeouts don’t have to mean everything.
I’m really excited to announce that I have accepted a position with the Milwaukee Brewers as a Baseball Research & Innovation Intern this summer. Thankful for everyone who has helped me on this journey! #ThisIsMyCrew

He has a lot of power and still manages a high BB%. He is off to a hot start in 2024 as well with a 132 wRC+ in 11 games in AA. While he is blocked in the majors by some good catching depth, he could be a trade piece or earn a spot with an injury.
