Sunlight can reduce some microorganisms, but it doesn’t sterilize tomatoes or guarantee they’re safe. Some bacteria and viruses can survive despite UV exposure, especially in shaded areas or tiny surface crevices. Washing produce before eating is important, but that doesn’t make it acceptable for a vendor to contaminate food with saliva. Good food hygiene is about preventing contamination, not expecting customers to fix it afterwards.
This isn’t about shaming anyone. It’s about public health. Saliva is not a cleaning agent it contains microorganisms and can contaminate food. Food sold to the public should be handled using proper hygiene practices, such as clean water and clean hands. We shouldn’t normalize practices that unnecessarily put consumers at risk

@econetzimbabwe Dear Econet, whether I’m out jogging or playing tennis, I’d love the freedom to leave my phone behind and stay connected through my Apple Watch. It’s time for Apple Watch Cellular support in Zimbabwe. Please help bring this feature to your customers. #AppleWatch #Econet #TechZimbabwe #Innovation
