Even though I still have to do my second observation, I am very happy with how this first clinical placement went. The class I had was amazing and I learned so much from my MT. I will defiantly use some time management and classroom management strategies that my MT used. #EDU310

Today at my placement my teacher had to go to a meeting in the middle of a lesson, so I had to take over. It went great and aside from doing math with them, I real aloud some short stories and it was really fun. Starting to do initial preparations for my next lesson too. #EDU310

At my placement today, I got to observe a science lesson. I am usually there during the classes math lesson so it was great to see another subject lesson in action. The students seems very engaged and seemed to enjoy it more than math. #EDU310

On Monday I had my first observation and it was good! My supervisor gave great feedback and said I did great for my first time teaching a lesson. They suggested having a checklist for the students. This can help with organization and eliminating repeated questions. #EDU310

This week I have lead the number corner activities but still need to get better at making things simple for the students. I also have my first observation next Monday and I’m pretty nervous but looking forward to it at the same time! #EDU310

@MaddieLaszewski #EDU310 Thats cool that you got to see a math lesson! The set time that I go into my school is always at math time, so I have watched those lessons quite a bit. My class also has students that need challenge and support, and my MT does a good job at trying to provide both.

Last week on Monday and Friday I got to lead the number corner activities and has a great time doing them! One thing that I realized I can work on is taking more time to let students think about certain questions I have for them. I will make sure to do that next time!

Last Wednesday my MT started to give me the sheets she follows for number corner activities. I didn’t realize how in depth some of the directions get but they are very simple and easy to follow! I also lead today’s number corner activity and it went well!

@MaddieLaszewski My class also thrives off their daily routines. The transitions between subjects are typically smooth and the students always know what to grab or do when my MT says what is next. #EDU310

#EDU310 My MT switched the students seats this week. What I noticed was that each student sat with somebody they typically talk with, and two other students they do not usually interact with. This was great because they got to sit with new people but sit with a friend as well!

@MrChitoC My MT also has their desk in the back of the room. I like my classroom setup because there is different types of seating throughout the room. There are tables, individual high top desks, and a low table with rocking seats. #edu310

Today in my class, my MT had the students write three goals they have for this year and the future, and three steps the need to take to achieve their goals. This was a great, unique warm up for the students and it made them think of what it takes to be successful! #EDU310
