OrderUp is officially live.

This is a pretty significant milestone for Steakd. What started as an idea to build a different kind of food delivery platform is now operating in the real world, with restaurants and customers actually using it.

The goal has always been bigger than simply launching another delivery app.

Lower fees. More control for restaurants. A better relationship between the business and its customers.

Now we get to see how that vision performs in the real world.

This is just the beginning.

When it comes to food delivery you don't have to scroll very far to find stories about stolen orders, late deliveries, or drivers who simply don't care.

You and the eateries are at the mercy of Just Eats, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, etc

One thing I like about OrderUp's approach is that restaurants can use their own drivers.

The people representing the restaurant are chosen by the restaurant—not assigned by a third-party platform.

That creates more accountability, better service, and a stronger connection between the business and its customers.

Congratulations to the Steakd team!

They pushed through all the negativity and sarcastic "it's impossible", "it can't be done", "it will never work" comments and kept building anyway.

And they delivered!

The OrderUp app is live, and the first customers have been onboarded.

That's a milestone worth recognizing.

But if you've been following the project and this team, you know this isn't the finish line, it's just the beginning.

Every day I see posts about stolen orders, late deliveries, and terrible customer experiences by people using DoorDash, Uber Eats, Just Eat, Deliveroo, etc.

OrderUp takes a different approach.

Restaurants can hire their own drivers, giving them more control over the customer experience from the kitchen to the front door.

Sometimes the best solution is simply giving control back to the people who care most about their reputation.
