Thoughts with Alan Krueger and his family today. Part of me understands why the Nobel Committee wants to award its prize to living winners (see link), but it does feel kind of wrong when co-authors aren't both recognized. https://t.co/oN5oc3zOcx
Well, it only took approx 4 hrs to deal with the two different flights @Delta rescheduled after I’d booked (and which I wasn’t able to modify online). The estimated hold time was 6 hrs with no callback option, so I guess this was a win?
As a former trader reporter, I can tell you this is a really big deal. The US usually pushes for longer/stronger IP protections in its trade agreements with other countries. But still, there's a long road ahead and little at the WTO happens quickly or easily.
These extraordinary times and circumstances of call for extraordinary measures.
The US supports the waiver of IP protections on COVID-19 vaccines to help end the pandemic and we’ll actively participate in @WTO negotiations to make that happen.
