@BrianV279208@wsbeans We have a bunch of teams and games like everything else are expensive. Probably saving for/spending money on a Dodgers game or Rams game vs a less consequential early season USC game while watching the game on TV.
Bigger concern is if it doesn't fill out for Michigan/Oregon/OSU
@Gradycounty76@barstoolsports We have higher expectations for entertainment than suffering to watch our team beat a smaller school in 100° weather. I'm more confused as to why fans of other Power programs waste their time/money on FCS matchups. You really don't have anything better to do?
@DjB27052347@RGIII@OuttaPocketRG3 I'd say it's program specific. If this were LSU pre 2000's I might agree with a retired number only with just a Heisman, but they now have enough historical success you need to be be totally synonymous with the school. Gotta have a natty or whole career with the program.
@75Captain80549@ItsTrev9@chris_m_landry As a fan, you aren't really our dude, you're just a mercenary who had a couple good years. It's one of the downsides of the new college football landscape with the transfer portal.
@75Captain80549@ItsTrev9@chris_m_landry Agreed, as a USC fan I really don't feel the same way about Caleb Williams as prior Heisman winners. If you are at any sort of prestige school you gotta be there at least 3 years(maybe even your whole college career) or win a title.
@Bobbalorian@RedWavePress When I graduated college in the 2000s most of the entry level jobs I saw paid $35,000 - $50,000. Most of the entry level jobs I see today pay... $35,000 - $50,000. But inflation has basically more than doubled costs. I think they can rightly be pissed off.
@EricLDaugh Perfect example Trevor Bauer, he's still an MLB quality pitcher but no one wants to touch him with a 10 foot pole because teams think the negative press and fan backlash isn't worth it. Business decisions are a valid reason for exclusion in sports leagues.
@EricLDaugh People think this will change something? Everyone knows neither of these players actually considers themselves a woman. The teams can choose not to draft these players knowing the fans won't want to watch them. Teams avoid players that will cause fan backlash in all leagues.
@Blochead4real If you are going to put so much stock into the length of the regular season you should weigh win percentage into the mix and account how the Red Sox have oddly alternated between seasons being the best team in baseball and hot garbage.
@AnonymHoco@itsedsilha@BiggestJohnStud@Dodgers I don't know the exact CBA rules, but general logic and AI which reviews available source material seems to support my argument. Your appears likely to be strictly emotional.
@AnonymHoco@itsedsilha@BiggestJohnStud@Dodgers And not even small markets would vote to disadvantage larger markets. They know that is where the majority of league revenue/growth comes from and it would likely cause them to lose value overall even if they are more likely to win games.
@AnonymHoco@itsedsilha@BiggestJohnStud@Dodgers That's a pretty ridiculous solution. Would likely end up in the Dodgers suing for punitive damages and winning. Teams can vote to agree to give relief to another org. Voting to single out a single team punitively wouldn't pass or hold up in court when they haven't broken rules.
@AnonymHoco@itsedsilha@BiggestJohnStud@Dodgers I think it's ridiculous too, but league owners approved it and are now crying about it. Seems more fans should be mad at their teams owners since they just assume the Dodgers would continue to have scrub owners.
Looking at the Dodgers payroll, that's actually a marginal issue.
@itsedsilha@AnonymHoco@BiggestJohnStud@Dodgers Whichever team signs a dual threat can have the same advantage. I actually think thats a good rule and those thar complain it's just sour grapes.
Fixes need to be made, but the owners aren't doing it to secure parity, it's strictly about boosting values of uncompetetive teams.
@itsedsilha@AnonymHoco@BiggestJohnStud@Dodgers Never understand when people complain about the Ohtani rule. When you have unique players you should promote/support it.
League did the wrong thing when they had an ambidextrous pitcher and said he had to commit before an at bat so switch hitters had the advantage.
@JomboyMedia Listening to the clip it sounds like he and the Yankees were already notified. Aside from that calling time is at the Umps discretion (I believe), if he tries to call for time saying he isn't ready they can just not give it to him and let him take strikes that way.
@single94supra@mmpadellan I think the thought process here is that it was a blood pack on the ear like wrestlers use. Since his ear shows no sign of scarring and none of the pictures at the time seem to show clear tearing. The individuals shot in the crowd complicate things.
@decafjams @wtpnational@DNIGabbard Also Gain of Function does not mean bio weapons. It may, but it is also part of the general study of virolgy in working on vaccines.
@decafjams @wtpnational@DNIGabbard She says 120 bio labs across 30 countries, some of which do gain of function research.
This "some" could be nearly all of them or 1 or 2.
The majority of these are likely labs similar to those found at virtually all universities.
