@cix_eria also JUST computer vision, in my experience. i've never run into a cs grad student into fumos who wasn't at least CV adjacent. zero in systems, security, PL, etc.
@filpizlo@mlagace Maybe I'm just institution-brained, but the whole software-hardware co-design thing is both exciting to me and seems like it has real value.
But Fil-C is also really cool to me! I just don't see the two ideas as competing.

@filpizlo@mlagace well, CHERI also gives you all the benefits of running on a capability based OS w.r.t compartmentalization--the project is about a lot more than just memory safety. i see it as sort of orthogonal to Fil-C, no?
