THIS HACKER SHOWED HOW EASY IT IS TO FAKE AN AIRPORT WIFI.
A hacker opened the airport Wi-Fi list: "every network here is mine."
Airport names. Coffee shop names. Full bars. None of them looked fake - that's the point.
"The second you connect, I have your password."
The trick: normally your laptop asks the router for google web site.
On his network, it asks him - and he decides what comes back.
Same logo, same login box, and you never checked.
He's not hacking your phone.
He's standing between you and the internet, handing you a version he wrote.
The fix is boring: don't join open networks you can't verify, and check the URL before typing a password.
The people who hunt these holes get paid for it - legally, before criminals do
