# of COVID deaths per year in Canada:
2020: 15,307
2021: 14,606
2022: 19,035
Let's get one thing straight: 2022 wasn't the year that we “learned to live with COVID.” It was the year we were told to ignore COVID while it continued to cause mass suffering, disability, and death.
@MeetJess Just had a neighbour text to see if our family wants to visit over the holidays. We are not even having a meal with extended family, a masked visit only. I am stressed about responding!! Ugh!
@Billius27 It is shameful. I am happy to have spoken up a month or so ago and indicated that as educators we are the adults in the room who need to protect the kids if the govt and board won't. We are with them all day and sickness is rampant. We switched to virtual assemblies.
All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together. Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.
I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.
@Billius27 The vast majority of people need to be led, so unfortunately enforcement works. People are afraid to be different and think for themselves so they won't wear a mask for the mere sake of social responsibility....their friends have to being doing it too. Sheep 🐑🐑
@jasmith_yorku I wear a mask, none of my students have taken up masking since the CMOH suggestion. Disappointed 😞. I have so many kids off sick, or worse, at school sick. Mandates work because people need to be governed....it's chaos.
@LoveHonestyRes1@DisputatiousOne @StephenWelsch1 @MeetJess Yes! I feel the same as if people around me are annoyed by my mask wearing. It reminds them that they are not doing what is right. I wear a mask for others more than myself, that's the kicker!!
@MusingEducator@flindall_steve After watching this, it confirms how little political leaders understand about what happens on the front lines whether it be healthcare or education. Masks in schools is such a quick and easy fix right now. No one in my class has put on a mask since the CMOH suggestion.😡🤯
@RichardCityNews So maybe a mask mandate in schools where children spend hours together in large classes, would be appropriate? He could visit my portable with 28 unmasked kids who come to school coughing/sneezing. He would mask up pretty quickly...I don't serve drinks though.
@DGBassani That is so disgusting. He is a disgrace to the medical profession. Children are suffering and because of his lack of leadership, more will get sick. Schools in the very least need a mandate, as well as limiting large assemblies. People need to be led unfortunately.
This year will have been the deadliest of the pandemic for Canada, says @mustafahirji, Niagara's acting medical officer of health (@NRPublicHealth, @NiagaraEM, @HEI_McMaster). Catch his interview with @Namshine at 8/11 p.m. ET on TVO.
Producer @MariaSarrouh
Ontario’s Minister of Health said that masking is a “personal choice.”
But the people who are sick & dying from COVID, RSV & influenza right now were most likely infected by someone who chose not to wear a mask.
Bad "personal choices" can have grave consequences for others.
@AlexMunter@CHEO What is wrong with people? Not one more of my 8 yr old students has masked up since dr.moore made his announcement. I have masked since September along with one of my students. Ppl need to take this seriously. I can't ask them to, it's frustrating.
@Billius27 @jennyleeshee I am angry as well, not one more student has masked up in my class two days after cmoh's "suggestion". I can't tell them to mask as classmates are sick around them. What is wrong with people?
