My girlsโ Kinder teacher was delaying center time until someone admitted to humming during Story Time. Finally, one of my daughters piped up and said she was the culprit. Apologized and everything. Yโall, it wasnโt her. She just wanted to go to centers. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
What an utterly bone-chilling way to discover that our new superintendent does not understand or value librarians, particularly at our campuses most in need of literacy support.
I would 100% prefer my kid to be able to read and understand Moby Dick, but hate it and read rarely, than to love reading Diary of a Wimpy kid and its like frequently. A love of reading is nice, but it's not the goal of literacy instruction.
Used the phrase โbosom friendโ today in conversation and a dude looked me dead in the eyes and said, โIt takes a real man to quote Anne of Green Gables.โ
