@DrBradJohnson Thank you!! I have a middle school special education classroom and my students would be pumped to use the items on my list! Keeping the classroom engaging, inclusive, and safe 🖍Anything is appreciated! https://t.co/af4PGOIfV2
@CathyMarksKrpan I work with students with learning disabilities that need longer processing times. A lot of heightened anxiety and frustration worrying they may be called on when they haven’t had enough time to think BUT they love engaging in discussions. I appreciate this point!
@MsMSchuler PACER is such a great resource to provide upfront to parents. The more information given ahead of time, the better prepared the entire team is. Thanks for sharing!
I came across this special education process flowchart and thought it would be very helpful for parents. There are a lot of moving parts when building an IEP, and helping parents understand the system along with their rights would make the info easier to understand.#SMUMNEDSE656
@ErinMcElligott3 Such a reader friendly find! Not overwhelming and gives great information to anyone wanting to know more about the LRE. Thanks for sharing!
@bona_courtney I like the “consider the meaning of…” sections and how it describes specific pieces of the LRE and what it means on different contexts. Thanks for sharing!
This article gives a lot of details about the least restrictive environment and would be helpful to both parents and teachers. It breaks down many different areas and answers frequently asked questions as well. #SMUMNEDSE656 https://t.co/BSx2VOhG21
@MsMSchuler I like how straight forward the information is. It gives all the key information the students will need to know without sugar-coating some of the pieces (having to pay for evaluations was one that stood out to me). Thanks for sharing!
@ErinMcElligott3 This is a great resource to ensure that what students and their post-secondary education institutions are providing appropriate accommodations to them. Thanks for sharing!
This article does a nice job of talking about accommodations as a whole. It breaks down where & when students are able to utilize accommodations and how to approach the school. A student friendly article! https://t.co/iZfuIFBtoH #SMUMNEDSE656

@ErinMcElligott3 I appreciate you sharing this and like that is is directly connected to the Minneapolis public schools. The site looks to have a lot of good information and laid out in such a friendly, non-overwhelming way. Perfect for students and parents! Thanks for sharing!
@MsMSchuler I have not heard of this resource, but I really like it! I think it is so beneficial to have something so straightforward to support students who continue to show a need of growth in certain areas and move towards a solid career. Thanks for sharing!
I actually got to speak with someone at a local Vocational Rehabilitation Service/CareerForce center this week and it is a great resource. Students can start working with them at 14 years old to come up with a plan for their future careers. Many benefits included! #SMUMNEDSE656
@ErinMcElligott3 This looks like a really great tool! I can’t remember if I have seen it before, but I am noting it down for the future. I really like that is was made by teachers and that is tracks in real time. They helps to give effective feedback. Thanks for sharing!
@bona_courtney I always enjoy a tool that will help monitor progress for me. I have found that it takes a lot of time to find materials for those specific goals that aren’t seen on these sites, so I appreciate when I can save time and use good resources elsewhere. Thanks!
I really appreciate the work people share on Teachers Pay Teachers and can see myself utilizing an online resource like below. It is a similar system to what I use on paper, but I would love to transfer the progress I gain to online for ease! #SMUMNEDSE656 https://t.co/grEZAuEuEh
@ErinMcElligott3 I really enjoy the breakdown of this resource. I would definitely refer back to it to help suggest ideas to general education teachers or use it in a pull out class. I love the detail it gives for each strategy, so helpful to see!
@bona_courtney I really like this resource! I appreciate the breakdown of what the different “supports” mean and they give thorough examples. I would refer back to this for both parents and teachers to help them understand more. Thanks for sharing!
