After late nights at work supporting HR with data, the School Board (of a Catholic School) has decided: we will weather the storm together. No retrenchment.
Here comes COVID. The school (the sinking boat), even if it wants to, cannot weather two storms.

As RD in 2015, I recommended to the Board to retrench. Implementation of the Kto12 in the country will hit the school hard (financially losing departments, school loan). The boat was sinking. HR was tasked to come up with the retrenchment decision tree.

There is a need to get facts straight -
13 Nov - the school gave the options: retire or be retrenched
23 Nov - the school board has decided to retrench ALL but the retirement option remains open
27 Nov - the school made public that 158 of 159 eligible employees decided to RETIRE.
