Was playing with my 3yo daughter using a small ‘Gingerbread Man’ puppet. She asked “What does the gingerbread man eat?” me-“I don’t know, what do you think?” her-“He eats meat.” I find her answer both hilarious and terrifying to think about 😂

Formative assessment should prompt immediate reteaching when needed; waiting until a summative assessment to realize student misconceptions and lack of attainment is too late. No need to criticize Rose for being honest about good practice

@BlackDadJourney Do you use any adaptive learning systems for learning math/literacy/etc,? Something like Dreambox, Lexia,? I also hope my daughter could homeschool some day (or get involved in an independent open source school group)

I see a disconnect between what speakers and leaders at school groups say (implementing future of education) and the day-to-day practices of individual teachers in schools in their planning & instruction (lecture; students write notes, take paper tests; teacher says students do)

I really hope to meet and talk with Dr. James Paul Gee about situated meaning, game-based learning, discourse analysis, and implications from these for adaptive learning systems
