Love a practical maths lesson. Building pie charts with fraction disks then giving a section a value. Eg. 1/4 is worth 62, use this knowledge to help you figure out the other sections. Or, the whole pie chart is 370, work out each section. #inspire#ks2#year6#sats@MyhillMaths
So the Gov wants to test x facts up to 12 x 12. I used to say in my talks, 'That's gross', but teachers younger than 35 didn't get it. Why are we testing facts we don't need in 6 secs? Show how to work out what they can't recall, so 12 x 12 is 10 x 12 + 2 x 12. Now that is maths.
Struggling to get #Y6 to concentrate on writing at this time of year? Just tea-stain the paper and they're raring to go π€£ Very proud of the emotion that the children have achieved in these pieces. Mother and daughter return home from station without father. #t4w@Talk4Writing
Outstanding. No more please.
Outstanding school.
Outstanding lesson.
Outstanding teacher.
Outstanding teacher program.
Just stop it please. It's meaningless rubbish.
Looking at angles in class today with a great activity spotted on Twitter by @TalkForTweets (canβt remember where but thanks if it was you.ππΌ). The children were truly engaged and used their knowledge and reasoning to work out all the angles and check if they were right. βοΈ
A huge THANK YOU to our #InspireMaths and #Numicon Advocate Schools for speaking at our Primary Conference today. It's been wonderful to hear your stories!
