Anyone care to take a shot at this handwriting? It's generally clear, but I can't make out this key bit: "Charleston School belongs to the __ and ___ of Charleston..." Context: this is a precognition for a case involving a school in 1880s Fife

@susannahlwright Ah, yes, I think the second word is indwellers, thanks! Not totally sure first word is tenants though that would make sense. First letter looks a lot like "F" and matches other "Fs" in the doc pretty exactly. Not sure I see the second "t" either.

@cgsloan I think Jonathan Rose's *The Intellectual Life* might have some material on this. But I don't know of much out there. I'd love to hear if you find some good scholarship.

@cadebellaigue @william_whyte @mike_rat @SolGamsu @susannahlwright @KaySocLearn Yes -- many institutions have *incredible* archives and fascinating stories that intersect with the history of the world wars, making of the welfare state, changing ideas about gender, etc. A rich topic that could benefit from multiple projects.
