@ChandraPasma Retired five years early this past school year because the system is broken and I was too rundown and heartbroken to keep fighting. Loved teaching, loved my students, but the system is now so broken that it’s breaking us. 🥲
@Teachers__Unite Wait, didn’t Ford already ban cell phones in schools? That wasn’t ever repealed, was it? 😂
Such garbage. Pandering to parents, with no ability to enforce or support.
@GambyVp Absolutely. As a former spec. ed. teacher, I’m saddened to hear that the local classes were canned for some. Many boards are using the D curr. - what on earth are the Gr. 9 kids who’ve been working with a mod. IEP going to do in MPM1D?!? And they wonder why we have att. issues!🙄
@michaelpbreton Really? I started teaching in ‘99, met my first transgender student in 2002 and have met many beautiful young trans men and women since. Perhaps they just didn’t feel comfortable/safe making themselves known to you? 🤔
@MsPerry62233528 @Teachers__Unite It’s simple math - no citation needed. If a student missed 15 days per year for each year of school, by the time they hit Gr. 12, they’d have missed 180 days (15x12). There are approx. 194 school days. So, the OP is correct in their original statement. 🤷♀️
