Ten years of Rainbow Six Siege complete ✅
It’s honestly wild to think I first picked up Siege on PS4 back in 2015. What hooked me straight away was watching an early stream where someone was carefully using the drone phase, actually gathering information before the round even started. That moment clicked something in my brain. This wasn’t just another shooter. It was slower, smarter, and rewarded thinking as much as reactions.
Over the years, through meta shifts, reworks, operators I still can’t quite forgive, and moments that made me shout at my screen, Siege has become one of the most rewarding games I’ve ever stuck with.
I really embedded Siege into my life in 2018, when I joined the University of Exeter esports team during my Master’s degree, despite being very obviously older than most of the lobby. I was never the fastest aimer, but Siege always rewarded something I loved: thinking. The round based structure, the information game, the pacing, and the tiny decisions that stack into a win or a throw. It scratches a very particular part of my brain.
In 2020, I started streaming. Not to go pro, not to chase numbers, but to share the experience. The good clutches, the bad decisions, and the occasional reminder that 90 percent of the time, it works every time. Along the way, I’ve made some genuinely great friends through the Siege community. For all the talk about toxicity, there are a lot of decent, welcoming people out there if you look in the right places.
Seeing Siege live at the Manchester Major in 2024 was another reminder of how special this game still is. The atmosphere, the crowd, and the skill on display felt like a celebration of how far Siege has come and why it’s endured when so many games haven’t.
Now, ten years in, year 11 for me, I’m doing something new. I’m actually trying to get better on purpose. Coaching, VOD review, intentional practice, and creating more content around the process. Not pretending I’m 19, but proving improvement doesn’t have an age limit.
More Siege content is coming. More learning. More laughs. More rounds that go perfectly, and more that absolutely don’t.
Here’s to ten years of Siege, and whatever comes next.

The thing about R6M and CODM and PUBGM etc is that they’re really cool tech demos but hampered by the ecosystem. Pick your fave and kill time on the bus/train or at lunch but are they really scratching the itch of a proper ranked stack?
Stick R6M on Switch tho 🙏

The hackers were able to change their name to an HTML <img /> tag and it's displayed as an image through the kill feed & when you click on their name.
This likely means they have an exposed API endpoint that doesn't validate user input.
Multi million dollar company btw.
