She managed to take something that requires an absurd amount of digging and make it actually digestible.

She doesn't pretend she knows things we don't... instead she lays out the larger context: the accusations against PPG didn’t begin with Valko + they were already dealing with claims about “de-Sinicization” & catering to foreigners... (newsflash, something can be fully Chinese and still appeal to foreigners btw)

Then you look at everything happening around that: Xinhua showcasing LADS through Chinese culture, Shanghai encouraging its game companies/IP to expand overseas, documented black-PR/account networks, new September regulations targeting that kind of manipulation, and Shanghai’s broader crackdown on enterprise-related rumors.

None of that individually “proves” what happened, but together it gives you a much clearer picture of the environment PPG has been operating in.

And THAT is why a lot of us think the way we do now.

It isn’t about blindly defending PPG or excusing their silence but more recognizing that this is probably much more complicated than “they removed Valko because they wanted to and could just undo it tomorrow.”

You can boycott, demand answers, and want Valko back while still trying to understand the full picture.

I made this statement 7/10/26, only 10 days into learning about China’s geopolitics, still completely ignorant to a lot of things because people just don’t learn this shit in 10 days.

I made this shortly after that one state media article came out.

I said, quote: “We do not blame Papergames for the overseas mistrust of Chinese gaming companies. We blame how easily bad actors can tarnish a company's hard-earned reputation through rumor, and mislead even the state media in the process.”

I literally said this because the bad actors were framing PPG for this.

It LITERALLY was why #ValkoWasFramed was born.

Now, hindsight is 20 20, because isn’t it funny how quickly they manipulated the intention of VWF and made everyone scared of it? As if we were going to start WW3?

Because I explicitly said don’t criticize the state, but focus on domestic media and the people who caused the rumors.

The state media was misled by bad actors and because of it, PPG was forced into an impossible position and went silent. We do not blame Papergames for the overseas mistrust of Chinese gaming companies. We blame how easily bad actors can tarnish a company's hard-earned reputation through rumor, and mislead even the state media in the process.

Papergames gave us a beautiful game, rich with Chinese culture. If any trust was lost, it wasn't in that culture and it wasn't in LADS.... it was in the fact that bad actors can destroy the careers of innocent people and an innocent company this easily, and face nothing for it.
