Today @RachelReevesMP set out a Budget that fixes the foundations of our public services and finances to deliver change, with:

🩺 £22bn extra for the NHS to cut waiting times
📚£2.3bn more for schools and £1bn for SEND
🏠 £500mn more for affordable homes

This the start of a new chapter to make Britain better off.

Sure start began in 1998, launched with the aim of improving the life chances of children from poor backgrounds. 3,600 centres opened. They led to a massive rise in availability of childcare & meant lots of support for new parents.
