@iCave_Dave@markgurman@intel@AMD Apple set such a high bar when moving from Intel to M1 that people have unrealistic expectations that they’ll do the same every year
@TeamUp@SoftwareAdvice Todays unscheduled maintenance on the site is causing a lot of problems.
Taking down a sports / management system on a Saturday was a poor choice. Please update us on when TeamUp will be back online
@iCave_Dave Was seriously considering spending an extra £200 for the 16”, which is probably what Apple would like. I don’t want the bigger form factor though
@iCave_Dave spoke with local Apple store today, they confirmed that they won’t be holding any 14” MacBooks Pro with M1 Pro & 32GB unified memory, that SKU is available to order only. Bring on the 4 week wait for my new machine 😢
@iCave_Dave They said stock would be: 14” 8c14g 512ssd & 10c16g 1tb ssd, both with 16gb unified memory. Then in 16” will be 10c32g with 32gb unified memory 1tb ssd. Other unified memory and storage configurations were made to order 😢
@Apple_Tomorrow Yes please! Gotta see some benchmarks before deciding if the entry-level 8 core is enough, or fork out big money for the 10 core cpu / 16 core gpu
@iCave_Dave Decision is basically whether to get entry level as it’ll be “good enough”. Or if I’m going to spec it up and make it as future proof as possible, may as well go M1 Max, 32gb ram, 1TB, and that’s £3000 spent 😳
