After a colleague misgendered me yesterday, she thanked me for correcting her and began using my correct pronouns. This is the 1st and only colleague to respond this way — no conflict, no push-back, just respectfully carried on the conversation. I wish everyone did this.
There will always be someone who thinks you're doing it wrong. Not doing enough. Not doing it how they would do it.
You could keep trying to please them, or you could accept that they don't have a clue what it's actually like to be you and carry the fuck on as you are.

Whenever anyone speaks up about weight loss compliments being harmful, someone always pipes up and says, “What’s wrong with trying to be the best version of yourself?”
And that’s EXACTLY the problem — that shrinking our bodies is seen as being our best selves.
For anyone else having a hard time, my best friend’s words go out to you too — you made it. And I’m so so so happy you chose to do so. The world is better because of it.
