i get an 2 emails about comments to approve on this new fic… i get excited because there’s no comments on it yet… i open the first… some scammer wants to make a comic out of my fic… I open the second…
it’s
ALSO a scammer,
and both have clearly fed my work to ChatGPT.
@dianapaulsenn yess I miss https://t.co/0sbw0JkeYA :( I haven’t used it in a while, I didn’t know they have the issue too because I left a long time ago but it makes sense… very upsetting.
ooh have fun! ;)
@vandaorchid88 It really is! They used to be once in a blue moon, now I get an average of 2 or 3 per fic. I know now to report them instead of just deleting them, at least.
i’m so sick of these, and they’re from registered users too. Do i just say fuck it and make all my works available to guests or do i say fuck it and delete everything? Rhetorical question. AI’s obviously already gotten to my work, no sense deleting it all now i suppose
@moftunbooks@blink_mkm@kengniks Fanfic is free: you don’t give any kind of feedback whatsoever unless the author has explicitly asked for it… many of us have paid jobs to work, education to receive, real-life obligations to carry out, and some of us are raising children— we’re busy.
@2ambyszaaaaa@demonzoroo I have the paid tier and I agree. The only real difference between the two is like the aesthetic difference doing block letters in your handwriting versus writing in cursive. Cursive looks pretty, but either you’re just putting letters on a page.
a brief heads up to anyone who’s subscribed to me on ao3: my username has changed from everyoneloveslucy to teardrop_onfire. I’m keeping everyoneloveslucy as a pseud for a little while for the sake of ease, but eventually all my works will be posted under my new user!
@deziignertiitz@ao3arashi I became 10x more productive with Ellipsus! Real stat btw, I measured my words typed/week with both and it’s ten times higher with Ellipsus.
@my_time_inverse@ao3arashi I’ve been using it for a long time and have hundreds of documents in two dozen folders and some folders and I’ve never had this issue, just to stave away some apprehensions
