I love allowing students choice in demonstrating a standard to let creativities surface where they can. In this case, a student chose to demonstrate their constructed response in a cool @Powtoon cartoon.

CanesTime is a short period every few weeks used to explore careers, learn skills, remediate, etc. Today, my session focused on self-care+experimentation in creating pumpkin-spiced bath salts. We combined pink & epson salts, dried florals & essential oils. 🎃@cvilleschoolsys

We introduced Poe’s “The Bells” in a kinesthetic kind of way. 1) Predictions/collaboration on word connotations/meaning. 2) Reciting & tapping the heartbeat-style cadence to hear & FEEL the rhythmic tone shifts that build suspense—using similar background music! @cvilleschoolsys

I received one of the most meaningful student gifts ever today. A red envelope is a Lunar New Year gift tradition I’m very familiar with. It brought tears to my eyes because I’m determined it will be the best new school year of my life. And it was just extra blessed. @CMSCanes
