Around 1:52–2:00 p.m., 23-year-old Caleb Green called 911, saying he had accidentally shot his 20-year-old girlfriend during a domestic incident. She was found dead inside the apartment from a gunshot wound.
Green barricaded himself inside, which led to a nearly five-hour standoff with the SWAT team and crisis negotiators. He repeatedly appeared on the balcony and pointed a gun at his head.
After gas was deployed, Green retreated to the balcony, where he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head around 6:58 p.m. No shots were fired by deputies.

A tragic incident was reported today, June 3, 2026, in Adana, Turkey. A 23-year-old man named Ahmet Kaan Kayhan, who was described by multiple Turkish news outlets as a suspected drug addict, asked his 52-year-old retired police officer father, Faruk Kayhan, for money. When the father refused, an argument broke out. The son then attacked his father with a knife.
In self-defense, the father drew his licensed handgun and fired multiple shots, striking his son in several places. The son died at the scene from the gunshot wounds.
