1/ Understanding the value of AWS and Amazon Retail integration - a perspective from a long-time $AMZN shareholder.
In the thread, I discuss the value of integration, both the upside and downside of the spin-off, and why the company is correct to never really consider it.
@davidbrear The article is five years old, I’d be more interested in a more recent view. A car that prioritises others won’t sell, so the developers of coded altruism leave the market anyway. If everybody is looking after themselves pedestrian safety becomes a simpler problem to solve.
@VanMoof A support problem with my S3 isn’t solved after 10 emails and a month. A video call with a technician would help a lot. Is the London store the only place in the UK that will work on it? I’m reluctant to take a 300km round trip for help with a brake lever
@kirk__ryan Or the start of an economic and science experiment of how a nation copes with chronic post-viral symptoms in larges swathes of the populous
@davidbrear@paul_langford Would you do a straight buy though? Sleepiest retail bank could take 15+ years to evolve systems to level of agility in fintech. The bank may not have enough to buy but they have enough to make the founders very well off. That might be enough for exclusive use of platform
@LeeBrookePearc3 @davidbrear Lee, the solvency requirements for start-ups are smaller due to the smaller customer base and consequent lessened exposure. And depending on how you start it, the requirement may not even be present
@TrialByTruth There’s a whole bunch, all based on the same app which allows the selection. Not sure if it’s deliberate or sloppy because it goes away on an iPad. Poor form either way
