Our S3 Construction class had a fantastic visit to the @PertBruce site at Sunnyside in Montrose. Craig Bruce (MD) spent several hours of his valuable time explaining the wide variety of jobs available. The boys had a fantastic time and came away really excited. @BrechinHigh1

Pupils from Mr Smith's Wider Achievement classes delivering much needed supplies to Brechin Community Pantry. This was paid for from money that they raised at the recent Xmas Fair. They wanted to give something back to the local community. @1959Bath@coop_kathy@BrechinPantry
After a very successful Christmas Fair the Technologies faculty has raised £400 for a good cause in our local community. A brilliant effort by the pupils making items for sale. Looking for requests for the funds. @brechinhparents@KellyMc38181813 @coopkathy @1959Bath
Mr Smith has been making a couple of items for our Xmas Fair in November. One of the snowmen will be raffled off. The pupils are also hard at work making xmas related items for sale (stay tuned for updates). All profits will go to a good local cause. #ThisIsBrechin@1959Bath
After our very successful pop-up shop where items made by the pupils were sold, Mr Smith from the Technologies Faculty presented a cheque to the 1st Brechin Scout Group. This shows how good our pupils are by giving something positive back to the local community @KellyMc38181813
Have had some excellent meetings this week organising the introduction of Automotive Skills to our S3 on the new timetable. We now offer 6 different subjects: Graph Com, D&M, WW, MW, FA Construction and Automotive. So excited. Not bad for a school of 500 pupils. #ThisisBrechin
Two new seat planters made by some of our great pupils have now been put at the front of the school for use by the community when using the campus. They definitely brighten up the front of the school whilst showcasing what our pupils are capable of making. #ThisisBrechin
Foundation Apprenticeship: Construction - S3 class. Their work based challenge was to design, manufacture and paint a summerhouse. Outstanding effort. Extremely impressed with their work ethic, working in teams and overall quality of work. @1959Bath@skillsdevscot#ThisisBrechin
Recycling
We have started a small project to take different waste plastic, shred it down using a kitchen food processor, melt it down and turn into blanks. We have turned a pen from one of the blanks. Next stage - upscale the project. #enviromentallyfriendly @DYW_DA @1959Bath
After 2 mega informative and interesting demonstrations from Dundee & Angus College staff, 2 groups from this years S3 Foundation Apprenticeship course have laid roof underlay, fixed counter battens, tile battens and finally the tiles. Superb job boys. @dundee_angus @DYW_DA
So proud of all of the S3 pupils involved in designing and making the summerhouse and decking for Inverarity PS. They have gained such a wide range of skills and experiences. Project based learning at its best. #ThisisBrechin@1959Bath @DYW_DA @skillsdevscot@InverarityPS
Superb work from the Construction Craft class today. They can now lay decking boards and have started to understand the process of fitting a handrail. Next week should see the project complete. 😀 @skillsdevscot@1959Bath@InverarityPS@brechinhparents
On a wet day the boys have done extremely well setting the decking frame level, install the handrail posts, skirts for the decking and the start of the decking itself. Weather permitting they will finish the deck and handrail next week. @skillsdevscot@1959Bath@InverarityPS
Our S3 Level 4 Construction Craft class finally able to install the summerhouse they have completed. Skills needed: levelling the base, site joinery skills, glazing the windows. I am very impressed with them. Next week - the decking! @skillsdevscot@brechinhparents@InverarityPS
