iOS 27 Beta 8 — 24+ hours later

I updated from iOS 26.6.1 to Beta 8 on 1 Sep, 2026 late night. Here’s the changes and what I’ve noticed so far.

🤔 Would I recommend it?

- If you are comfortable with beta software, YES. Otherwise, I’d say wait for the RC/Stable release.

6/8 - Connectivity & Face ID 🔐

- So far, everything is working normally (better).
- WiFi, Mobile data, Bluetooth are good.
- Face ID is also working perfectly with no issue.

Overall, everything feels a little faster and smoother than before.

8/8 - My final verdict 🔍

After almost 20+ hours with iOS 27 Beta 8, I’m genuinely liking it more than 26.6.1. Performance feels smoother, Safari feels better, Siri got a life finally, more refined.

It’s still beta, but so far, Beta 8 feel’s solid step forward.

5/8 - Daily Apps📱

- Safari’s toolbar redesign but I did notice one small UI glitch: switching between tabs in the new top bar briefly shows a strange reflection around the rounded corners.

- SM apps are working normally.

- I don’t play games on my iPhone, so haven’t tested.

4/8 - Camera 📷

- Camera opens a little faster, photo processing also feels quicker. No issue with video recording, lens switching or portrait mode.

- The UI has changed too, tools are now also accessible beside the capture button.

Just noticed the new little detail on Instagram 👀

Check out the new micro-interaction when hitting follow that subtle click sound and smooth morphing animation. Simple update but I kind of love it.

Update size: 1.51 GB

This update is primarily a maintenance and polish update focusing heavily on bug fixes, performance optimisation and backend stability.

@derekyt_ @VerdeSelvans Hey, I was already on iOS 26.6.1 yesterday and last night I updated to iOS 27 Beta 8. It showed 11.63 GB for me, but the actual size was only 1.5 GB.
