The cold and sunny weather we had today reminded me of this painting from last year. Based on a photo from GPRA on a sunny, snowy and cold day. It turned into a beautiful painting too...

Next steps for this painting, the rocks on the right. These will be quite time-consuming, but if you look at the close-up for the area below the tree on the left, once it's all done, it'll be worth it.

Our journey through the wilderness continues with much of the tree line filled in (one of the more time intensive aspects) and our wildlife blocked in, just to get a sense of shape and where our friend is going to hang out. #paintingprocess #gouache #Alaska #wildlife #painting

With this painting, as with most other paintings, I started with the sky and the clouds, then moved on to the basic shape of the peak sticking up through the clouds.
