The friendly cooperation between political parties has always been an important part of China-Kenya relations. We highly appreciate President Ruto’s warm congratulations on the 105th anniversary of the CPC, and look forward to further enhancing friendly exchanges between the CPC and the UDA, jointly injecting more vitality into the building of a China-Kenya community with a shared future in the new era.

When you show yourself to the world and display your talents, you naturally stir all kinds of resentment, envy, and other manifestations of insecurity... you cannot spend your life worrying about the petty feelings of others.
🎓 Congratulations to the 2026 cohort of the @UNEVOC#TVET Leadership Programme!
After a week of learning, dialogue & exchange in #Bonn, 24 TVET leaders from around the world completed the programme and received their certificates.

During the burial of the late Zipporah Kosgey in Nandi Hills, President William Samoei Ruto did something that many people may have overlooked. He deliberately invoked the name of Head of Public Service Felix Koskei and described him as one of the people who runs the government and should be listening to the concerns of the people of Nandi.
In politics, nothing just happens for the sake of it. Everything in politics is well planned, well scripted and deliberately executed to achieve a specific political objective. In my view, the President had three major reasons for mentioning Felix Koskei.
First, it was about accountability and managing expectations. The President reminded the people that he is governing the entire country and has been travelling across Kenya in an effort to build an inclusive government. The underlying message was that he does not work alone. He has entrusted certain individuals with the responsibility of serving communities and listening to their concerns. He was saying that if some promises have not been delivered, the people should also hold accountable those who represent them in government.
Secondly, it was a powerful political reassurance to Nandi County. There has been a feeling among the people of Nandi that they have been sidelined in key government appointments. By publicly stating that Felix Koskei is among those running the government, President Ruto was reminding the people that one of their own occupies one of the most influential offices in the country. The message was that Nandi has not been forgotten.
Finally, the President's call for peaceful campaigns carried a deeper meaning. By praising Felix Koskei's role in government, he appeared to be cautioning those engaged in political battles against him. The President wanted to remind the people that Felix Koskei is the man he entrusted with a major national responsibility. Instead of fighting him, they should engage him and work with him for the development of Nandi.

KSTVET ranked #1 in the 21st Performance Contract Evaluation! We earned an excellent rating, a testament to strong performance, accountability, and excellence in TVET training.
This exemplifies the excellent leadership of the CEO @edwintarno#KSTVET#TVET#PerformanceExcellence
This afternoon, I presided over an induction programme for Boards and management teams from Mulango TVC, Kibra TVC, Machakos Town TVC, Kajiado East TVC, Githunguri TVC, Ngong TVC and Ruiru TVC aimed at strengthening institutional leadership and governance within the TVET sector.
I emphasized the critical role of TVET institutions in driving Kenya’s industrialization agenda through the delivery of quality, competency-based and industry-responsive training. The State Department, remains committed to supporting institutions in enhancing training quality, strengthening governance and advancing financial sustainability to ensure they continue producing a pool of skilled graduates equipped for the evolving labour market.
I also encouraged institutional leaders to embrace sustainable practices, including, automation, solarization, rainwater harvesting and other green initiatives that promote operational efficiency and climate resilience. These interventions, alongside strengthened industry linkages and innovative Income Generating Activities (IGAs), will position TVET institutions as self-sustaining centres of excellence that contribute meaningfully to national development.
Today, I Joined the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, who represented H.E. the Deputy President, during the official opening of the 4th International Research Conference, Skills Competition, Innovation, Career Guidance and Expo at the Kabete National Polytechnic.
Held under the theme "Transforming TVET in Kenya for Market-Ready Skills, Employability and Sustainable Development," the ongoing conference is providing a valuable platform for showcasing research, innovation and best practices that are shaping the future of Technical, Vocational Education and Training in Kenya.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including the Principal Secretary for Housing and Urban Development; Charles Hinga, members of the Kabete National Polytechnic Governing Council, government officials, industry partners, trainers and trainees.
I emphasized the need for research and innovation to move beyond outputs and deliver tangible outcomes that solve real-world challenges and challenged participants to continually reflect on the impact of such conferences and how the ideas generated contribute to skills development, employability and national growth. I also underscored the importance of strengthening industry linkages, establishing productive industries within our institutions and expanding trainee exchange programmes to enhance practical training and global competitiveness.
The Government remains committed to strengthening the TVET sector as a catalyst for industrialization, job creation and sustainable socio-economic transformation.
Excellence in public service must be demonstrated through measurable results. H.E. Dr William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, issued a national call for higher productivity and performance during the closing ceremony of the National Productivity and Performance Conference at the Kenya School of Government.
During his address, the President reminded public institutions that prosperity is not determined by what a country possesses, but by what it produces. He also challenged all of us not to become comfortable with mediocrity, but to pursue higher standards of productivity, accountability and service delivery for the betterment of the Kenyan citizenry.
The State Department proudly celebrates the exemplary performance of TVET institutions. Rift Valley National Polytechnic and Kisiwa National Polytechnic received the Most Improved Performance Award in the Productivity Performance category for FY 2024/2025. Runyenjes Technical and Vocational College emerged as the Best Tertiary Institution in Wage Bill Management, while Kabete National Polytechnic was recognized as the Second Runner-Up Best Performing Tertiary Institution.
These achievements reflect strong institutional leadership, teamwork, prudent resource management and an enduring culture of continuous improvement. I commend the Principals, governing councils, staff and trainees of these institutions and charge the entire TVET fraternity to take up the President’s challenge by sustaining excellence, raising productivity and strengthening its contribution to skills development, innovation and Kenya’s economic transformation.
Kenya and the Republic of Korea continue to deepen cooperation in trade, ICT, energy and agriculture.
Met President Lee Jae Myung on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, where we reviewed progress following the establishment of permanent offices for the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Nairobi, strengthening support for investment, infrastructure and development cooperation.
We further advanced discussions on preferential market access for Kenyan products, including tea and coffee, and explored expanding our bilateral labour arrangement to create more opportunities for Kenyans, including opening pathways for Kenyan teachers to work in South Korea.
I also welcomed yesterday’s signing of the Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Certificates for Seafarers between Kenya and the Republic of Korea, which will enhance employment opportunities for Kenyan seafarers in the global maritime industry.
