Based on our findings, we can leverage the experience of wildfire evacuees to create a virtual reality wildfire evacuation training to better prepare communities at risk for wildfire disasters. (4/4)

In order to better inform design of a virtual reality training for wildfire evacuation, we interviewed evacuees from wildfire events to establish their perceived regrets and needs for future evacuation events. (2/4)

We found that accessing and sharing information is a critical part of the wildfire experience and that wildfire evacuees often expressed regret in response to poor planning and item management. (3/4)
