Seems everyone's vibe-coding, while living off savings.
I think the recession hits in a few months after they're done building, but no one cares. Hope fades. No one downloads their AI slop game or app - everyone too busy scrolling. Building isn't the problem, distribution is.
There's a lot of losers on this app.
People who have nothing to do except criticize others with their time. That is a day in their life they'll never get back, and they choose to spend it angry & mean to internet strangers. OK. As for me, I'll fill my day with positivity.
@Creamy_McCream Bitcoin is mostly macro now - hard to predict based on geopolitics, rates, policies. Alpha is thin, too many people develop emotional ties to the asset, make it their identity. You can make money in either direction if you arbitrage the other side. More in my private group.
With Bitcoin back up, people seem to think I was wrong to sell.
While I appreciate the concern, don't worry too much about my portfolio. If you made money, congrats - lucky trade, but I'm done guessing market direction. My actual strategy is more robust than just buy vs sell.
Is it just me, or people are getting meaner to programmers?
Not professionally, but in personal lives - visible disrespect & open hostility. The magic veil has been lifted to reveal a simple parlor trick. No longer the "smart ones," just unemployed and ridiculously obsolete.
The 9-5 is peak living, arguably.
You get access to millions of dollars of infrastructure, office space, compute, human labor, resources in a top tier city.
Entrepreneurship is a solo grind, 24/7 at home, low budget, no status. Only freedom to sit at a beach - with a laptop.
Many engineers just over-provision, as we're not experts at usage optimization. We don't know exact system needs, migration is risky. I moved 500GB+ of user data. AI did it in a weekend.
btw, I went with Vultr. if you're looking for a server, $300 credit https://t.co/ClbqDDDVcx
AI just cut my server bill by 80%..!
Was paying $330/mo for 16 cores / 32GB RAM (running it for 20 years). I asked Claude to check the invoice and system usage. It found a cheaper provider, reduced excessive resources, and planned a careful migration.
Here's the novel thing...
Unpopular opinion: Don't use Linux for personal use.
The reality is it's insecure - bugs in browsers, apps, & drivers go unfixed for months. Prod Linux servers are extremely minimal, your computer is not.
Apple ships critical fixes overnight, it's a brand emergency otherwise.
@DulowTwist I think that would be the next social network - georestricted, or private networks. Either way, some way to keep the masses of third-country engagement farmers & AI agents at bay.
Social media is becoming intolerable, with the mass influx of third-world countries.
Most content is made by poor "digital immigrants" who will do anything for a buck - fake regurgitated slop, **negative alpha.**
The new social media is private networks.
Remember, almost everything you read on X is negative-alpha.
Already priced in. React less.
Try scheduling trades with a 3-day delay.
Do less.
(or, get on the other side and learn market-making... Recent yields have been stunning from increased volatility)
