Louise Haigh resigned as U.K. transport secretary and the Tories seized the moment to attack Labour with this statement:
“Louise Haigh has done the right thing in resigning. It is clear she has failed to behave to the standards expected of an MP."
Two words- brass neck
Liz Truss who 'worked' for 49 days, now gets £115,000 tax free for the rest of her life, the same as a £195,000 wage.
But she wants you to have to work till you're 80 to get £13,000.
Liz Truss took this Private Jet to Australia as lowly Foreign Secretary which cost £500,000 but that wasn't enough so she managed to spend £15,000 on champagne and caviar while she was aboard.
Of course, you paid for all of this.
The Tories relied on fiction to come up with their spending plans.
This is just one example of many.
The Labour Government is doing things differently.
In January 2025 Energy Prices are expected to go up at least another 3% in the UK.
In France they will drop 10%, due to falling energy costs even though their bills are already 40% lower than ours.
We are being ripped off.
If France 🇫🇷 is reducing its energy prices because global prices have come down, then why is our Government increasing the charges for citizens next month in the UK 🇬🇧 🙈
Surely we are being ripped off if this is the case
We need answers to this
A retired General just made the point that Donald Trump is currently ineligible to be volunteer for the Army because he is a convicted felon. But he wants to be our Commander in Chief.
Let's stop questioning the cost of winter fuel payments and start addressing the root cause. It's clear that either pensioners don't have enough income to meet their basic needs, or the cost of essentials like heating fuel is artificially high due to corporate greed.
If the Conservatives aren't going to bother to turn up to sit on the opposition benches, but the Lib Dems are, maybe it is time for the Lib Dems to be the official opposition?
Tonight in Parliament we passed the Bill to bring rail back into public ownership.
This is the beginning of the end for the rip-off, privatised rail system.
After decades of failure, it's great that we are going to get a rail system that puts the public before private profit!
