CATL has made a new type of battery for commercial EVs that works extremely well in very cold weather.

❄️ In extreme cold (–20°C) → the battery still keeps 92% of its power
🧊 In even harsher cold (–40°C) → it still keeps 90% of its power
🔋 Even when fully frozen at –30°C, the battery can start charging immediately — no warming needed
🚛 A 45 kWh battery pack is designed for commercial vehicles like buses, trucks, and delivery vans

Normally, EV batteries:
- Lose a lot of power in winter
- Charge very slowly or not at all in freezing temperatures

This new sodium battery:
Works reliably in harsh winters.

Important clarification 🚨

There were earlier reports suggesting FASTag annual subscription would not apply to 6- and 7-seater private vehicles.

Now confirmed by NHAI:
✅ FASTag annual subscription will work for 6- and 7-seater non-commercial private vehicles as well.

If FASTag is not working on eligible vehicles, users are advised to update FASTag vehicle details to avoid issues.

This resolves the confusion around seat-based eligibility.

🚨 Big Trade Deal Update: India–EU 🇮🇳🇪🇺

As part of the upcoming India–EU trade agreement:
• India is set to cut import duty on cars from 110% to 40% starting January 27, 2026
• The tariff may be further reduced to 10% in later phases

This could significantly impact luxury car prices, EV imports, and global automakers’ India strategy.
