@TolentinoTeach Banning as the focus on screens and social media…

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@Jo10030676 Tis the most common reason for our school to have a “hold and secure” event… three bells = come/stay inside.

The joys of #bearSeason at schools.,,

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@MarciaOnTheGo Stealing @mariners #HotDogsFromHeaven - guess it’s a #westcoastbias tradition now! (And I thought when it first happened that it was unsold dogs from earlier in the day- was confirmed they are fresh hot dogs that are dropped… at least at t-mobile park…)

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@Humanoholic Graphic novels are easy-reads. Comics and graphic novels are in a golden age and more kids should add them to their bookshelf (not all, some neurologies hate images done for them) also great for many who do not have words = imagery

Lots of examples of transforming learning with AI. Summary of Courageous Minority October meeting 1: Changing Education from Within: Practical Possibilities and Constraints in the Age of AI. https://t.co/0VD0qS8XUY

@SarahVLangan1 @StephenKing recommended it as a great horror - so it’s on my “to read” list!!

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@Ninawildflower @alexanderrusso And climate change
And 2slgbtqia+
And local First Nations histories
And religions (specifically brought up by one of my kids they wish they had a bit more about Islam, Judaism, etc - especially subsets)
Social Medias as literature
AI as collaboration
Mental health…

@Dale_Chu @ehanford @apmreports Actors improv. Musicians jazz. Surgeons adapt. The script is a starting point but not always “the” way. Teaching is an art and you need to know your audience… not just put in a laugh track/applause sign for students to likewise respond as expected rather than naturally…

@rebelpioneer I loved finding my old one - especially as there were some old csssettes with it, including my treasured but missing “yellow” @barenakedladies “demo tape”. Good memories. Crappy audio format🤣

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@JamesAFurey Some people have good memories of the hooked on phonics commercials - direct instruction has no jingle - though like phonics, works when targeted (used mindfully, not exclusively)

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@steeletalk If it ain’t visible, how can it be real 🙄 once again, neurologies not understanding how brains work differently… and mental illness continues to have a huge stigma to how it “ought” to work and “should” respond to treatment… Great share Lynda!!

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@RussellHartness @Seahawks This Thursday Night Football game definitely has two sweet uniforms on display… I’ll give @broncos for their orange crush jersey looking almost as good as the Seahawks royal blue (I’m decked out in all green… had to represent at school…)

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@Seahawks @NFLonPrime I was showing off @Seahawks pride at my school today #PrincipalDressCode

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@rebelpioneer I don’t have any, but I’d take a first Gutenberg bible… not sure if the bards first folio would count…

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@MarciaOnTheGo I told my wife that this may have lost the Ladner/Delta area to the Cs. I don’t mind to be corrected (though seeing the tunnel project stop [again]. at this point would hurt…)

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@ThebookishC Depends on the book. But also with tinnitus, I’m not really sure what “complete silence” is beyond the few times I’ve woken up congested enough to not hear anything. But then I don’t feel well enough to read… silence-ish for deep thinking books, pulp fiction in public

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

#PrincipalDressCode lots of talk about pajama days and teachers wearing jeans not being school appropriate - to reference Jack Nicholson’s Joker - Wait ‘til they get a load of me… go @Seahawks Thursday Night Football

[Ian Landy (he/him) @technolandy]

@vancolour ECEs still be under paid/under funded?
Supports for families who work in evenings and on weekends? Two vulnerable times where “school daycares” don’t provide support for families that could use it even more than most with 9-5 type jobs.
